Signs from a horse in spirit

Who doesn’t love receiving signs from the Universe?
Even better is receiving a sign from a loved one in spirit.
Particularly wonderful is receiving an impromptu sign, without even asking for it.
This happened on Wednesday
.
I was accompanying Lauren to a horse show, and had popped in the portaloo. As I sat there on the loo, staring me in the face was a cardboard tea carton with a plastic lid. Nothing unusual about that!
But what was unusual was the word “Silver” written on the lid in a red felt tip pen. Underneath the name was a letter “C”.
The moment I saw it, I instantly thought of our beloved pony, Silver, now in spirit, who was on loan with us for 5 ½ years. Just to connect it even more with him, the surname of his owners began with a C and he was a Connemara.
It also felt relevant that I had seen this at a horse show, because Lauren used to compete a lot with Silver.
Had he popped in to say “hello?” Maybe, he had even showered Lauren and Rosie was some Silver magic, because they went on to win their class.
I always like to know that these signs aren’t just coincidental, and whenever I have asked for further proof, I have always received it.
So when we arrived home, I asked Silver if it was indeed him who had sent us the sign, then could he please arrange for “The world” card to be chosen out of my animal tarot deck.
This card is hugely significant and very much associated with Silver. The night before he transitioned, when we knew he was ill, I had asked the Universe whether or not Silver would pull through, and I had asked for clarification with a card from this deck.
The card was “The World” card, and it depicted a sheepdog sitting on a plinth with wheels (in the form of the eternity symbol). Around the dog was a wreath (association with death) and seven butterflies (a symbol of transformation). The circular wreath along with the word “World” gave me the impression of life having come full circle and being complete.

The words on the card seemed so appropriate. “Congratulations on successfully accomplishing what you set out to do! You’ve made it through the challenges and incorporated the lessons life offered you with grace and courage.”
Just to connect it even more to Silver, the card also depicted two objects (possibly recorders) at the dog’s feet. The one was gold and the other silver.
I had my answer, but at least it had been delivered to me in a very positive and uplifting way.
As this card had Silver stamped all over it, then this was the obvious choice of card for Silver to bring forth now, if he wished to prove to me that he had indeed popped in to say hello.
So I shuffled the cards and made my selection. It was not “The World” card.
I was disappointed and it made me doubt whether the sign had been from Silver after all.
But the disappointment didn’t last long.
The very next morning, I checked out Katie Oman’s card for the day. This is a daily ritual for me, as her cards always resonate deeply with me, and lately her cards really seem aimed at me. Most days I can barely believe how they speak to me!
Well Katie had pulled two cards, and there are no prizes for guessing the one which had me gasping in disbelief. Not only was it “The World” card, but it was from the same deck of cards as mine – the Animal Tarot deck.
Now Katie has hundreds of decks of cards, so the timing of this just seemed incredible.
It also made me chuckle, because I realised that when I had asked Silver to pull out that card, I hadn’t been very specific. There was no timeframe given or direction as to who should pull the card. I had just asked for that card to appear. And indeed it had! Just fourteen hours later.

I love getting signs like this, and always they leave me in deep awe and gratitude.
But the other thing that I love is how it reveals our interconnectedness to each other.
I had probably been too desperate for “The World” card to appear, causing my request to be blocked, but Katie was able to come to my rescue.
Then there is the person who left the cup in the toilet in the first place, and her writing the name on the cup. Why did she do it? If she only knew how this played a part in bringing a wonderful message to a mother and daughter, who still greatly miss Silver’s joyful essence.
So when you get an urge to do something you may not understand, or which seems a little crazy, then just do it anyway, because the Universe could be orchestrating a very meaningful sign for someone. You never know whose day you might be making!
